Terms & conditions
The legal stuff. Please read before booking; by completing a booking you agree to all of this.
1. Booking & arrival
- Bookings are made online. You can also pay by phone on 07562 792353 if you'd prefer.
- Your slot is held for ten minutes while you complete payment. If payment doesn't arrive in that window, the slot is released back for someone else to book.
- Once paid, you'll get a confirmation email immediately. The gate access code is shown on your booking page and sent in the confirmation email; if the gate code is updated for your slot you'll see the new code on the booking page (link in your email).
- Please arrive no earlier than five minutes before your slot. If the previous visitor is still on the field, wait in your car (or just along Edward Road) until they leave.
- You must depart at the end of your slot so the next visitor can use the field. There's a five-minute changeover built in.
- If you can't see your gate code or have any trouble at all, call 07562 792353.
2. Cancellations & refunds
- Cancel from your booking page (link in your email) at least 48 hours before your start time for a full automatic refund to the card you paid with.
- Inside the 48-hour window we can't refund as the slot is unlikely to rebook.
- We may very occasionally have to cancel a slot ourselves (weather, maintenance, unavoidable closures). When we do, you get a full refund or an alternative slot, your choice.
3. Your dog
- Dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations and worming. Please don't bring a dog that's unwell, especially with kennel cough, vomiting, or diarrhoea.
- You're responsible for your dog at all times. Dogs must never be left unattended on the field.
- Dogs that escape the field are not our responsibility. The fence is 1.8m with skirting, but we can't account for every situation.
4. Banned breeds & XL Bully
We welcome XL Bullies and other dogs covered by the UK Dangerous Dogs Act (Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro) provided the following are all in place:
- The dog is registered on the Index of Exempted Dogs (IED), microchipped, and neutered in line with Government rules.
- Valid public liability insurance covering the dog.
- One handler per banned-breed dog on the field. If you have other (non-banned) dogs in your household, an extra adult handler is needed for them.
- Only dogs from the same household as the banned-breed dog can share the slot.
- The dog is muzzled and on a lead until the gate is shut, then re-muzzled and leashed before exiting. Inside the field they can be off-lead and unmuzzled.
5. Children
- Children are welcome but must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
- Children should not climb on the fence, gate, dog equipment, or any furniture.
- The accompanying adult is responsible for any damage caused by children.
6. Waste & cleanup
- Please clean up after your dog. Bins and biodegradable bags are provided.
- Return any toys and equipment to the wall rack or drop-box before you leave. Damaged items go in the bin.
- Leave the field as you found it. Repeated failure to clean up may result in being unable to book in future.
7. Equipment & facilities
- The Hooman Hut shelter, toys, tunnels, tractor tyres, Hound Ground Island, and other play equipment are provided for use during your slot. Equipment must stay on the field.
- We may add or remove equipment at any time.
- Fresh water, bowls, towels, and phone charging are available in the shelter. If you bring your own bowl, please take it home.
- The honesty-box in the Hooman Hut covers our drinks - contributions are appreciated, never required.
8. Safety
- Keep dogs on a lead in the car park, on entry, and on exit. Secure the gate chain to the provided hook before letting your dog off.
- Don't share your gate code or let anyone else in.
- No barbecues, open fires, or smoking on the field.
- The field is uneven and can be slippery when wet. Use the field at your own risk.
9. Surveillance
The site, including the car park and field, is monitored by 24-hour CCTV with audio recording. This is for safety and dispute resolution only. Recordings are retained for a reasonable period and shared only with law enforcement on request.
10. Parking
- Maximum three vehicles in the on-site car park.
- If you're early or the car park is full, please don't park between our entrance and the Hemsby Road junction on Edward Road - park further along the road.
11. Liability
You use Winterton Hound Ground at your own risk. We can't accept responsibility for:
- Injuries to you, your dog, or your children, however caused.
- Loss or damage to your property.
- Wildlife encounters (rabbit burrows, etc.), uneven ground, mud, or slippery conditions.
- Costs (vet, medical, or otherwise) arising from your visit.
We strongly recommend keeping dog insurance with third-party liability cover.
12. Data & privacy
We collect only what we need to honour bookings (your email, the slots you booked, your payment record). Full details are in our Privacy & your data page, including how to request deletion of your records.
13. Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. The version in force is the one shown on this page at the time of booking.
